As soon as I arrived into the UK, I was able to see Krishna Das in London, who was truly amazing
. Then I had a fun couple of weeks with my sis (Julia), Dan & Willow my niece who were visiting from Vancouver. We were blessed with the best weather the UK has seen in June for years I think. We had about 10 days straight of blazing sunshine & people even began to say it was too hot! We were able to go to the coast, play in lots of parks & generally bask in the sun.
After 3 weeks at home I had slightly itchy feet & so jumped at the chance to go to Barcelona for my Birthday to see Krishna Das again. I love Barcelona, its definitely in my top 2 cities, competing hard with Chiang Mai. KD was even more amazing in Barcelona than in the UK, the Spanish were much more open & free & there was a fiesta atmosphere! I met some of the wonderful Spanish Anusara Kula (Community) who i practised, ate & chanted with. A friend who I had met in Chiang Mai took me to some beaches an hour from the city & took me to a beautiful yoga studio up in the hills where I experienced another beautiful kirtan session. They had a hang, a wonderful instrument that reminds me of 2 woks stuck together!
From Barcelona I caught the train to Avignon in the South of France. I was very impressed with the trains in Spain & France. I set off around 10am from Barcelona city & arrived around 4pm in France. The journey was very smooth & the connections were great, hardly any waiting time between the trains. In spain the trains were so cheap compared to the UK. I think I did the whole journey for £40, when you think you are lucky to get from Manchester to London for that, I was v.impressed.
I had arranged to go to stay with my friends in a farmhouse in Provence, surrounded by vinyards. We all had a v.relaxing week hanging out in the house, cooking & eating beautiful food, drinking wine from the local area, gorge walking & doing a little site seeing. It is a v. peaceful & beautiful part of the world. Every morning I would cycle down the hill to the patisserie to pick up breakfast for us, croissants etc. I even managed to teach them a yoga class outside & obviously I spent a fair bit of time practising. We all travelled back to London together in the car, although it took a day it was actually a really good way to travel by car via the chunnel to France!
I spent some time then in London & then Leeds before heading for the festival "The BiG Chill" at beginning of Aug. As always i had fun with my friends & enjoyed camping & dancing but I dont think I would return again. 3 years in a row is enough for this festival & i dont know if i am getting older but it did seem to be full of 17year olds! Never mind we still had fun & the weather managed to hold out without any rain.
At the end of Aug I went to Croatia for the Electric Elephant festival. This been my 3rd year in a row to go to this festival & it did not disappoint! It just gets more & more fun each year. Me & Butts arrive early to begin the week very chilled, swimming in the sea & reading our books & lots of early nights. By the time the festival starts we are ready to start the Fri eve on a boat party. As only 250 people can get on the boats the atmosphere is amazing. Everyone loving being on hols in the sun & listening to fantastic music on a boat! 3 nights in a row we watched the sunsets from the boats, this year I thought that the Lowlife djs music was my fav, Unibombers also rocked as always! If at all possible I would go back again next year!

After a very short amount of time back in London, I was then lucky enough to go out to Corsica for a chilled week in an amazing villa on top of a hill. It had a beautiful swimming pool with a panoramic view of the sea all around. It was great to be with my best friends, teach yoga each morning & each day give a thai yoga massage to one of them. It was nice to have a lovely place to hang out & cook & eat wonderful food! Photos on next post!!...
I had a wonderful time zipping off to all these gorgeous places however I did feel the need to be in one place for a while, so I decided to remain in the UK for the remainder of Sept & Oct. I went camping & hiking out in the Lakes & the Yorkshire dales which was lush, paying attention to the change in season made England a wonderful place to be in Oct. The leaves were so bright & beautiful colours, the skies not always so blue but this meant the colours of the leaves were much more vivid. It was time to start wearing jumpers but not too cold at this point! I was happy to be there & see the change in season, October in England is a good month!
